Dear Friends and Family,
I am excited to be a part of a mission team that will be serving at orphanages in Mandeville, Jamaica during the month of _____________.
The mission and purpose of the non-profit organization that I am going with, International Orphanage Relief (IOR), is to share the love of Christ with children in orphanages; adopting orphanages, not just children, to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of children. Their hope is that seeds will be planted and, as other teams follow, there will be a great harvest!
I have always had the desire to take a mission trip, and when this trip was presented to me, I felt it was the right trip for me. One of the most exciting aspects of the trip will be the opportunity to spend time with the children. I am excited to give them the gift of love, hope, and most importantly, Christ. There are over 160 children at one of the homes where we will be serving. For this reason, personal love and attention are greatly needed. While there, we will be doing small projects, spending one on one time with the children, and addressing any special needs that they may have.
Please consider being part of this mission trip by praying for our team. We leave on ____________ and will return on ____________. I am also asking that you would prayerfully consider supporting me financially on this mission. The total cost per person is $1300. Any contributions that exceed the amount needed for this mission team will help fund other projects for the orphanages through International Orphanage Relief. If you are interested in supporting me, through prayer or financially, please detach the bottom portion of this letter and send it in the enclosed envelope with your tax-deductible donation by _____________. Checks should be made out to “International Orphanage Relief” and should not have my name anywhere on the check. You are also able to make a donation by visiting IOR’s website, www.iorelief.com and choosing the “Donations” page. We have an account set up with PayPal, which is a secure site. Please include my name and my trip dates in the “Notes” box when making the donation.
Even with the short length of this trip, we know God will use us to have a life-long impact with these children. We are praying for God to open the eyes and hearts of these children so we can show His love. Thank you for your prayers and consideration.
